Providing SharePoint Users with an In-Context, On Demand Training Resource Should be a Component of an Adoption Plan

SharePoint-Videos created the VisualSP, Help System for SharePoint 2010 and 2013. VisualSP provides SharePoint with an in-context, on demand method of satisfying the needs of SharePoint end users to consume training content when and where they need it.

But other types of training systems can be equipped with similar features. For example, enterprise organizations can purchase group, or multi-user subscriptions to all of the content on SharePoint-Videos.com. It makes a lot of sense to include either a group or a multi-user subscription to our content in an in-context, on demand container.

As Asif Rehmani, SharePoint MVP and MCT has pointed out, the SharePoint content webpart can be used to expose a set of links to training content about SharePoint, which is curated around a scope of work. These links can be pointed to specific video tutorials on SharePoint-Videos.com, to provide end users, or other SharePoint users not inclined towards an immersive training experience, with an in-context method of getting to the training information they need, on demand.

Once one of these users has clicked on a link, and logged into to our website with appropriate credentials, then there will be no further need for she/him to re-authenticate as other video tutorial content is consumed (at least as long as a browser session is open). The categories of content available on our web site covers a very wide cross section of SharePoint computing methods, so SharePoint users responsible for administration, systems development, systems design, or even system architecture, can all be serviced with this type of method.

We offer a one-page index of all of the content on our site, which can certainly provide the basis for building several pages of links on different topics; for example, workflow, SharePoint forms, MMS and Taxonomy, SharePoint Designer, and more.

If your organization needs a cloud, SaaS method of obtaining SharePoint training content, one of our Group ID or Multi-User subscriptions may be the correct solution. I am available, on request, to expand on the information included in this post, so please do not hesitate to contact me. I’ll be happy to scheduled a web meeting at a mutually convenient time.
